George Kittle: 49ers season 'means nothing' without win vs. Rams

George Kittle throws down the gauntlet ahead of NFC Championship Game against the Los Angeles Rams.

San Francisco 49ers star tight end George Kittle took to the podium Thursday for a meeting with local press and sent a strong message to his teammates, and the Los Angeles Rams.

The long and short of it? The entire season's a wasted effort if the 49ers don't beat the Rams Sunday at SoFi Stadium in the NFC Championship Game.

"This whole season actually means nothing if we don't get this win," Kittle told reporters, per Jake Hutchinson of KNBR.

He was asked whether it was a "body bag game" this weekend, as he had previously called the team's Week 18 battle with the Rams. Instead of taking the bait, Kittle replied, "It's the NFC Championship."

Kittle, as you may remember, is desperate for another shot at winning the Super Bowl. He famously vowed to get back following the 49ers' brutal loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019.
