Trey Lance did something really, really good today.
49ers' fans have been discussing the quarterback position in what feels like a never ending hamster wheel for the better part of a year.
The reason that is important is because now the team has two potential franchise QB's and one of them is starting to separate.
During today's first padded practice of the summer, Trey Lance unleashed his best pass as a pro. Lance maneuvered through a messy pocket to find himself fading to the left. Lance uncorked a pretty deep pass to WR Trent Sherfield who brought in the perfectly thrown pass.
The stands exploded with cheers as Trey Lance made one of the better throws you will ever see on a football field. Lance was hands down the best quarterback on the field today and it even felt like Lance was the 49ers real QB1 based on how Kyle Shanahan was dialing up plays for the young QB.
We even saw Trey Lance get his first team rep today.
